The Economic
Bounce That Isn’t

Don’t worry, the experts assured us,
Though good news has too long been lacking,
This summer will bring happy tidings,
Doom sayers will all be sent packing.

The experts were sure of their numbers,
They’re certified masters of tracking,
So we looked to their glimmers with high hopes,
Of escaping our recent shellacking.

But profits, they keep on a'falling,,
And good jobs we lost ain’t returning,
If this is the promised strong comeback,
It’s a comeback that few are discerning.
