Wall Street Poet
Michael Silverstein's
Satirical Verse |
|
|

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post
"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today

The Payback Poem
To get a short-term spending rush
Heres a very simple plan,
When more credit cards are offered
Step right up, say: Im your man.
Bout prudence never have a care
In your personal life quest,
Make today your only time frame gauge
And today enjoy the best.
Of course, this game must sometime end
There will come that fateful day,
When your creditors come calling
And their loans you must repay.
A nation, just like you and me
Will one day get that call,
Repay a mindless spending spree
With a living standards fall.
