Wall Street Poet
Michael Silverstein's
Satirical Verse |
|
|

"Nowadays, you can't turn on the TV without some talking head telling you about the economy. Yet, in a world overrun by 'analysts,' only one man has the guts, the brains, and, quite frankly, the poetry to put it all in perspective. That man is Michael Silverstein... Silverstein is a true intellectual." — Gersh Kuntzman, The New York Post
"Few people have found much to laugh about in the stock market this year. Michael Silverstein is the exception. The Bard of the Bourse can find humor in losing money, globalization and stock options." — USA Today

An estimated 48 million Americans lack health insurance. And because they nonetheless need doctoring from time to time, these costs get passed along to the insured in the form of higher premiumsa pass-along that now averages $922 a year.
Man, God, And Trickle
Down Health Costs
My own health costs are much too dear,
I cant afford a pick up share
That subsdizes working poor,
The very notion makes me sore.
But somehow though I shun this play,
I gotta shell out anyway;
Poor people when thy come up sick,
Go see a doctorboy, theyre slick!
Now with this pricey health care sleeper
Ive become my brothers keeper.
Hey, just because I read my Bible
Dont mean for the poor Im liable.
